I would love to hear your take on Moffat's latest interview in DW magazine in which he says he wishes he was David Tennant. Particularly - "But a thousand years on in Trenzalore is a very different learning curve. He watches generation, generation die in front of him, and remembers that he's nobody's boyfriend - he cannot afford to love or be loved."
lmao I saw the bit about “I wish I was David Tennant so women would flirt with me” and I was like aren’t you… married…. loooool it’s such a weird awkward thing to say
The Trenzalore thing like, whatever tbh — if that was his intent and that’s the reason Twelve is so ~daaaaaaaark~, like, a) we need that to be brought up in the story itself, not in DWM, and also b) the generation after generation thing wiht Trenzalore is just so meaningless to the audience. We don’t SEE any of that, we just get the footnotes of it. You can’t have a 900 year war take place in under 45 minutes and expect it to resonate with your audience.

A tip from your favorite nurse
(that’d be me)
Always have eggs in your fridge
You just never know when someone will split their head open
Or cut their finger while cooking
And so on
See that membrane there?
While the blood is gushing - hold pressure and crack open an egg
Peel that there membrane off and put it on the wound (continue holding pressure)
The membrane will harden and keep the wound closed until you can get to the ER for stitches
If you even need them that is
Nature: 1, Band aids: 0
I did some research on this (because I do that now, fucking science get out) and it seems that this was done in the early 1900s somewhat frequently. It was used as a way to treat just about any kind of skin wound, from burn to cut to in at least one case an ulcer. It actually helps the wound heal not by preventing blood loss but by replacing part of the skin tissue and helping it grow.
It also helps in healing scars and reducing their visibility.
Also, if you have a splinter, smack one of these things on there and it will draw it out of your skin. No more shitting around with pliers.
it will also suck the poison stuff out of mosquito bites and stop them from being itchy
woaaah i didnt know!! awesome stuff :D
Did not know the mosquito bite or splinter thing! EGGS—IS THERE ANYTHING THEY CAN’T DO?
They cant fix the economy

After threats against her life, Anita Sarkeesian canceled an upcoming talk at Utah State University. Gamergate trolls are celebrating on Twitter while simultaneously dismissing the threats as nothing. Does this read like nothing to you?“I will write my manifesto in her spilled blood, and you will all bear witness to what feminist lies and poison have done to the men of America.”
The email’s author threatened to murder feminist women indiscriminately in a mass shooting. And because carrying guns on campus outweigh the right of students and guests to be safe, Anita Sarkeesian canceled her talk.
BUT WE SHOULDN’T FEEL THREATENED, RIGHT?
BECAUSE IT’S JUST THE INTERNET, RIGHT?
The bullies won this time. And if you think this shit isn’t dangerous, I’m fresh out of fucks to give and I’m not restocking any time soon. It’s goddamn wrong to to dismiss this by claiming the author isn’t serious. Elliot Rodger’s rantings were dismissed until it was too late.
This. Is. Not. OK.
guns… literally more important than the lives of women in the state of loveable mormons
And the responses have begun. The male gamers are joking about a woman’s fear of an anonymous person who said he would write his manifesto in her spilled blood—as if it were no big deal. How much more vile can you get, guys? And how scary? I wouldn’t show up, with this as my welcome card and the state saying they would deploy no serious protective movements.
One of these days one of these ha-ha-just-a-joke guys is going to make good on his jokes while wearing a metal cup to protect his goodies, and all of the rest of the gamer nutballs are going to say, “We didn’t know he was for realz.”
Guess what, assclowns? I don’t want Anita Sarkeesian to take that chance. I don’t want any woman to take that chance. I want women to be safe so they can get your hostile, threatening, abusive asses thrown into jail.
FFS, we should not need to have this conversation. A few facts for the gamers who might otherwise disagree with Anita in this situation:
1: According to an in depth study ( Found here ), women make up 48% of ALL gamers, and even more on certain platforms. If you can’t interact with what is the equivalent of 1 out of every 2 human beings in an acceptable manner, just because their genetic lottery is different, you are a bigot.
2: Despite recent trends like swatting gaining popularity, the majority of gamers, on all sides, feel such practices are sophomoric at best, and dangerous at worst. So why do you think it is acceptable for someone to make threats of violence, sexual or not, against anyone, let alone those who seek to make the industry stronger as a whole.
3: Just because you disagree with someone, it does not mean you resort to violence. She was going to hold a panel for critical discussion, and as such, holding an open forum for debate. To go straight to violence shows a mindset not unlike those of terrorists worldwide. Let that sink in. I would also guess that the assholes who would say such things don’t have any intellectually sound counter-arguments, but refuse to let their ignorance go unheard.
4: Finally, even if you do not agree with ANYTHING Anita says, there is always the option to agree to disagree about opinions. You know, one of the things that makes individuals who they are?
I can only hope that Anita continues to show the same level of thoughtful critique that she has, and that the low life thug(s) who threaten such garbage are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, found guilty, and harshly sentenced. Maybe the time in prison would give them food for thought on what it is like to be threatened or assaulted for being different.
For the first time, I may not understand, but I can at least begin to empathize, with the “Yes all men” movement.
